CR-39: Plastic is a popular choice for lenses today and is commonly known as CR-39 or regular lenses. After the material was introduced and popularized over six decades, it has quickly replaced glass as the most popular material for eyeglasses. What makes plastic lens popular is that it can be adjusted to any prescription with ease and can be tinted with every available color on the market. If your customers are looking for a stronger, lightweight and low cost alternative for traditional glass lenses, we recommend plastic.
Mid-Index: Mid-index ranges are lenses with refractive indices ranging higher than Trivex lenses i.e. 1.53 but below polycarbonate materials that range upto 1.59. The refractive index of mid-index lenses generally range between 1.54 and 1.56.

Polycarbonate: Our polycarbonate lenses are known for their thin, lightweight and sturdy build. Known to be significantly thinner and lighter than plastic, polycarbonate provides 100 percent protection from UV rays. They are high impact resistant and are ideal for children as well as safety glasses. Polycarbonate glasses are made of the same material as bulletproof glass and do not break easily.

This type of lens is popularly used in sports and is suitable for both normal and physically strenuous activities. Offering complete UV protection, our polycarbonate lens is less likely to crack or break.

High-index: Compared to standard plastic lenses, high index lenses have thinner edges and are designed for patients with nearsighted prescriptions. Apart from the functional element, the thinner edges of high index lenses look more stylish and are also lightweight and comfortable. High index lenses are also available in the MR series that are known for their high refractive index, impact resistance and low specific gravity. Depending on the optical requirements of the wearer, high index lenses can be divided into multiple models including:

The MR Series is a brand name for Mitsui Chemicals’ raw lens materials and includes MR-7 (1.67), MR-8 (1.60), MR-10 (1.67), and MR-174 (1.74)

These high index lenses are ultra-thin and are ideal for strong prescriptions, making them significantly lighter and thinner from traditional lenses. Like other lenses, high index lenses are available in a wide range of prescription strengths ranging from -10 to +6 without significant change in weight or size.

High-index: A 1.67 refractive index lens is up to 30% thinner than standard plastic lenses. Thinner 1.67 Aspheric Lenses are one of the thinnest and lightest plastic lenses available in the Lens range making it suitable for most of the majority of today’s popular frames. These lenses are generally recommended for prescriptions above plus or minus 3.00. These lenses are suitable for rimmed, half rimmed and rimless frames.
